Project: Coat Hanger Wall

As most of you know I live in the basement of my parents house. My old "stomping grounds" if you will. Trying to update this space is a little challenging. For one it's not my house, and for two I'm still learning how to organize this space.

Small step! But it's an improvement!

Here we have the before

Plain plywood wall covering the furnace. Looks pretty drab and blah. I was also was hoping to configure a spot to hang my coats. Just so that I wouldn't have to walk all the way up the stairs to hang my things in the hall closet.

So I painted the wood the same color as the walls (off white?) and found some old wall hooks that I have hung about here and there when I was 16. I just took them off the wall and relocated them to my coat wall. It is a bit plain and boring, but I really  don't know what else to do. The door opens up right against it, so any shelving or seating wouldn't work.

Got any ideas?
