Short
While my hair was this short, I had fun with the standard blow dry, round brush, curl in look. BUT I also had a shit ton of fun with some even shorter looks. So like a faux super short cut.
All I did for this was use bobby pins, a little hair spray and my natural curl. How to Create Volume with a Stacked Bob ( I only had a small round brush and way less products, but it’s pretty much the same thing)
Mid-Lengh
When my hair grew out a bit more I could finally use my moms old hot curlers. Plus I was going through a love of the 50s-70s look. Which I still love but I’m not as strongly.
And then I tried a rockabilly puff ponytail type thing.
For this I just teased the front part, pinned it back. Then did a ponytail, add bandana and you’re done!
Usually for work I would just put my hair up in a bun, but to make it extra special I would put twists in my hair. Works while wet or dry, and is super cool if you have high/low lights in your hair. And is great for 2 or 3 day unwashed hair. Keep it messy and lightly brush and then twist away!
Long
When my hair was longer (oldest pics) I would braid my hair. I learned how to do a rope braid and a milkmaids braid. Rope was perfect for tiny curly/wavy hair.
And milkmaids was perfect if you just didn’t want to deal with your hair or wanted it up in a creative and fun way.
You do not need to do all that prep if you don't want to, just the braid part.
And then I would try to curl my hair with a curling iron. Since my hair is fine it’s hard to curl… well in my experience anyway. I start at one end and by the time I make it to the other side, the first side has fallen flat. Hair spray weighs it down and makes it crunchy. But I am still experimenting. In this pic, I just made it into a cute ponytail and kept it at that.
And those are a couple of hairstyles I had documented over the years. Do you have any to share? Or any tips?
