Chocolate Chip Pancake Recipe Review

So when I was young, my dad would make Sunday breakfast. There would be pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage, and fried potatoes. It was always a joy, and I look back on those memories fondly.

As a adult, someone with a mostly vegan diet and who no longer lives at home, I wish for those simple times again. But this time I have to make the breakfast, and I have to figure out what to make. One thing that’s hard about being a vegan for the most part is how we connect food with comfort. Those sunday breakfast were easy, simple, lazy times. I don’t find myself having days like that anymore.

So I want to carry on my dad’s tradition, every sunday I’ll make or try to make breakfast. So this week I did something easy, chocolate chip pancakes, strawberries, jam, and Simple Truth Meatless Breakfast Patties.

The recipe was valentines day themed, and I loved the idea of heart shaped everything.
I didn’t have a mold for my pancakes, so I looked through the internet and found this!

Now the mold worked for the first pancake, but I couldn’t get it off. I didn’t oil it at all. So I quickly tried to make a new one, but it didn’t work out. I gave up on heart shaped pancakes shortly after.

Also she didn’t mention it, but the tin foil gets pretty hot. So grabbing it to take it off the pan might end up being a problem.

For the recipe I used whatever flour I had on hand, so white pastry flour and oat flour. I used normal almond milk, and just used more vanilla.

As for our thoughts, we both thought it was really good. We even tried something new by putting strawberry jam on our pancakes. This breakfast was a success! And we highly recommend this recipe.
