So I graduated from The Art Institute of Atlanta on the 16th of June. So not to long ago, I haven't been able to blog because my parents and sister were visiting. I didn't want them to come visit and then spend all my time blogging. They had a long drive from Michigan and I haven't seen them in a long while. So with all the excitement subsiding I can now blog and blog more often since I won't have to deal with homework and classes. YAY!
So these were my professional take-a-ways. Meaning they are meant for people who may someday hire me or consider hiring me. I made 10 of them and these cups were the 2nd most expensive thing I had to buy for Portfolio. Well I didn't have to buy cups, I could have done buttons or magnets or something else. But I wanted to feel that my take-a-ways were practical. The problem with buttons is sometimes it's hard to find a place to put your info and if there's no info then it's just another button. Anyone could have made it, heck the person that takes it from your table may then turn around and say they made it.
Magnets on the other hand you can put your info on. The only problem is people may not like magnets or see magnets as clutter and there for not even bother taking it. Plus if your image is boring then no one will take it. It's just that simple, why spend money making 50 when only 4 might be taken?
So this is why I made cups! I find them to be practical! People need cups, and this one has a illustration I made on it! As an artist, I understand the constant need for rest and coffee and the battle to obtain both. So I can only imagine how hard it has to be to be a Art Director, or the head of some art department. Has to be 10 times worse then being an art student. So I packed my practical cup with lots of goodies for those important people.
In these cups we have!
-My business card
-A pack of Orbit gum to help with that morning or coffee breath before they meet a client
-Small pack of Coffee (everyone got a different flavor! I know your not all the same!)
-2 packs of different tea, just in case your not a coffee drinker. But I highly doubt that. lol
And that's about it, pretty awesome set up if I do so say so myself. :D
Portfolio pics and Graduation pics will be up later. And then some random stuff from a while back.
Everyone have an amazing day!
Bye Bye!
brilliant! :)
