The Gift I Made For My Sister

A couple years ago my sister told me she wanted more earrings. So with her birthday coming up, and the limited money I had at the time. I set out to not only get her what she requested but to also make it fun. Now at the time, I was obsessed with the thrift store….I still kinda am…

The only thing that didn’t come from the store was the paper!

I found this cute box at the local salvation army and knew it would make a great storage container for all her new little earrings.

I felt it was be cuter to draw little pictures of her on the paper. Makes for cute earring holders don’t you think!

And I put cute little notes on the back.

But now I needed a box to put it in…. hmmmm what will I do? I think I’ll make one!

I can’t remember what box I made it from. But all I did was make the box just large enough to fit the jewelry box. I used yellow spray paint and acrylic paint, and the black was marker.

Needless to say she loved it! It was great to save money and make a great cute gift while I was at it. I hope this inspires some of you to make your own homemade gifts! Or at least make some of it homemade.

Have you ever made a homemade gift for a family member?
