Portfolio Show!

FINALLY!!! the pictures are here!
For those of you that don't know what a portfolio show is, let me explain. For the Art Institute, it's a show we put on 2 days before graduation. All the graduating students in a department (Mine was Illustration) get a room. In that room we get a table and a computer, and then we display our best work. Before the show even happens, we have to take a class where we work with a teacher. He helps us put together our best work. And believe me if you don't have anything or your works not good enough, you won't pass the class. Therefore you can't graduate, so this class is VERY important. But I did pass, so I'm very happy! Alot of work went into getting ready for the big event.

For one, the outfit

looking awesome!
I wanted to go for an older look, so I did a nice black dress, pearl necklace, and a short black heel.

Dress - Thrift Store
Shoes - Thrift Store
Hair Pin - Made by the wonderful Helen
Necklace - Given to me by my Grandma

The bag isn't really a part of the outfit, but I got that at a Thrift store to.

Yay for friends and family!

What surprised me the most is when my family showed up! I was told weeks before that they would make it for my graduation, but not my portfolio show. I understood of course, they did have to drive all the way from Michigan to Atlanta. But I still wanted them to be there, so I was super happy when they made it in time!

Top Picture - LaVaughn Dipal, Kelly Buyers, and ME! (All graduating Illustration students! Kelly Buyers was also best in show! CONGRATS!!!)
Bottom Left - My boyfriend Tom and Me. He wanted to dress up nice to. (He didn't have to)
Bottom Right - My younger sister Christina and Me. (she so tall!)

This is my table! Since I don't have a website (I consider this my website) the computer showed a PowerPoint of everything that was in my book. I had a giant bowl of candy (to bring the people in). The cups for the professionals, my book, my card and resume, along with a big blow out print. I think my screaming man makes a really good statement. What do you think?

YAY bestie!

Last but not least my good friend Zeke! He also graduated and with Best in Show in his department! He's in a Animation Department and does great work. Check out the studio he's apart of here

Next I'll have pictures up of the big graduation day! Along with some other adventures!

So did you go to any graduations this summer?
