Month of Cleaning COMPLETE, now for a review

So everyone remember that month long cleaning thing I was suppose to keep up with in December? Here's a reminder if you don't.

Well things didn't go as planned, and I have plenty of reasons *cough*excuses... why it didn't work out. BUT I'll also share somethings that did work out.

 1. I live with 4 other people, who not all share my OCD standards for clean. Enough said there.

2. I work a 8-5 full time job, when I get home I am tired. And frankly just didn't have the energy or time to rise and repeat everything everyday. If you look at the cleaning chart, you are literally doing almost the same thing everyday. I don't know about you, but there is almost always someone in the kitchen. And I won't sweep the kitchen if someone is cooking or whatnot.

3. I just didn't look at my planner everyday. If I don't look at my planner I don't do anything. That's really how I work, no lie. But those were some great days I got to relax.

4. I'm weird and prefer cleaning when no one is home.
There's just
A. people in the way
B. lots of staring
C. Lots of questions and remarks.

5. Last one I swear, If and IF I did get everything done, it would be late in the evening. Like to late to do a hobby or watch a movie. I would be straight to bed tired. Which I just didn't like, my days should not be filled with working 8-5 then cleaning 5-8, rise and repeat.

But here's are somethings that did work.

1. I thought the doing 1 load of laundry a day thing was cool, and saved lots of time in the long run. Would you rather fill up one whole day of laundry or do a little everyday? And in some cases Tom and I don't produced enough laundry. So I even got some days off from that.

2. Our dishwasher recently broke, so i'm finding that doing a small amount of dishes everyday keeps the pile under control. But to be completely honest I don't get to them every day.

3. I love coming home to a made bed. It puts a smile on my face every time.

So the verdict is if your a 20 something, living with your parents and a bunch of other people... this is NOT a cleaning schedule for you. I feel this is something more for a stay at home people or a part-timer. Otherwise I did think the chart was useful and a nice reminder of things to do and if I wasn't so busy I would try this again.

Here's Strawberry Mommycakes Cleaning Chart if you're interested.

Now it's time to find a new cleaning chart, but first I'm going to enjoy a little down time.
